Health research prioritisation is regarded as a key part of efforts needed to strengthen national health research systems. As we move towards 2050, the research domains have to be reviewed and updated periodically in the light of the changing spectrum of health problems. What will be the health issues that require research by 2050 may be difficult to predict now – however, through a dynamic process of prioritising health research, we can be on track in changing situations at all times.
