The Centre of Studies and Research was part of an international collaboration in the GCC for a training workshop organized by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), Bahrain in cooperation with the Bahraini Ministry of Health for the National Health Survey 2017 project in Bahrain. Experts from the Centre of Studies & Research represented the Ministry of Health, Oman in the framework of exchanging and benefiting experiences in the Gulf region by facilitating the implementation of the survey approved by the World Health Organization. The training workshop was held over a period of 5 days from 22nd October to 26th October.
The aim of the workshop was to transfer the experiences of the 2008 World Health Survey by the Sultanate of Oman by introducing mechanisms, the best opportunities, and challenges encountered during the implementation in Oman. The team was briefed on data collection from households included in the survey sample and techniques to train field researchers. The teams were also briefed on the required tests and health measurements associated with the survey, the tools utilised, as well as the identification of questionnaires and data completion methods.
This constructive participation is one of the achievements of the Centre of Studies & Research in achieving the objectives of the Health Vision 2050 by forging collaborative bonds between MoH-CSR, Oman and other countries in the region, and the world.
