The Centre of Studies & Research of the Ministry of Health announced today (Wednesday) the results of the Oman National Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and their Risk Factors Survey at Al-Shafaq Club.
The announcing ceremony was held under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health in the presence of H.E. Dr. Akjemal Magtymova, Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) to the Sultanate of Oman along with a number of senior government officials from different sectors.
The Centre of Studies & Research in the Directorate General of Planning and Studies carried out the national health survey in 2017 across all the 11 governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. The survey is the largest nationally representative survey to collect comprehensive information on risk factors for NCDs. It provides essential information on key NCD indicators by age groups, sex and governorates.
The best videos prepared by the regions highlighting the work during the NCD survey were also presented. The ceremony concluded with a felicitation of all the individuals involved in the planning and data collection stages from all the regions by H.E. Dr Ali Talib Al-Hinai. A token of appreciation was also given to each Regional Directorate General as well as the generous sponsors of the survey.
